Well, there are many different permits and obligations when it comes to a stormwater inspection: industrial permit, your infrastructure compliance, construction permit inspections.

So, we’ll touch on the WQMP, Water Quality Management Plan. This is most common for property managers, developers, and owners. These are the agreements that you make with the city or county.

Now, when we do our initial inspection, we’ll go out there, we’ll do an inventory of all your storm drains, your underground vaults, your detention basins, bioswales; do a quick audit of the housekeeping, the general conditions on the surface, just so we can keep you informed on what’s going on on your site, and then the tenants can make improvements to their housekeeping to lessen the impact to the stormwater system.

Now, construction sites, they require different stormwater inspections, oftentimes more frequent. They’re looking for more erosion and sediment controls. Those are performed by a qualified person in the construction space. We offer those services as well. Industrial, those have their own requirements, often monthly inspections, annual reports to the state.

Now, if you were to call us out on a common Water Quality Management Plan agreement inspection, we come out there, open up the manholes, record the sediment loading, any kind of material loading inside the vaults. We check the conditions of the filters, make sure there’s stenciling. Oftentimes, you can do all this from the surface, but in certain situations, we would have to go out there with confined space to really get a deep dive on what’s going on underground.
